This is a feel-good tale about having the courage to do what you love, even if you feel “different”- and finding your troop!

Inspired by the worlds most extraordinary Birds of Paradise in New Guinea and their unique dancing, Macca the Aussie Kookaburra loves to dance and finds himself swept up in their world.

Meet a number of the Birds of Paradise as Macca is introduced and watch what happens when he flies completely out of his comfort zone!

The names of the Birds of Paradise characters are inspired by their scientific names, as noted in the awe-inspiring Birds of Paradise book by Tim Laman and Edwin Scholes.

My dream is for this story to be turned into a movie to bring the dancing and music to life, but even more so to shine the light on these amazing birds so we can protect their habitat for future generations to come.

ABOUT THE

charity

The RARCC is an incredible charity run by Max Ammer and his team. They are currently developing their education center into a formal (SD) Primary School, and have a shark nursing initiative (re-introducing Zebra Sharks back to the wild), a glass/epoxy boat building training center (giving people the opportunity to learn a worthwhile trade + building environmentally better boats), a syntropic
agroforestry initiative (planting fruit trees to counter slash & burn), and an initiative where they give Papuan students the opportunity to be involved in aviation. A diverse range of positive projects making a real impact! I’m honoured to support them.
